Dr. Poirier-Schmidt earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry. She completed a residency in Ocular Disease at SUNY Optometry and Woodhull Medical Center in NYC. After completing her residency, Dr. Poirier-Schmidt was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry where she supervised students and residents in Retina, Electrodiagnostics, Glaucoma and Primary Care clinics. She also served as the Instructor of Record for the Ocular Disease II (Retina) course for third year students at the college. Dr. Poirier-Schmidt is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves on the Executive Board of the Retina Special Interest Group. Dr. Poirier-Schmidt resides in Pleasantville with her husband, daughter and french bulldog. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
